Brian has been around pianos and music his whole life, following his passion after high school into the retail musical instrument and piano industry. While involved in piano sales he found himself fascinated watching the instruments in the showroom being tuned and serviced by a local piano technician (Peter Hugo) who noticed his keen interest and took Brian under his wing and taught him about the service side of the industry. The rest is history. 

In 1979 Brian started Constellation Piano Services at the age of 19 offering piano moving, tuning and repairs. He attended various seminars and workshops in the years that followed, and soon after expanded his range of services to include rebuilding and refinishing old pianos that had often been in people's family for generations. "Seeing the joy and happiness people experienced when their tired old piano came home looking and sounding like new again made it easy and enjoyable going to work everyday." The business continued to grow and expand, hiring and training technicians and sales people to supply Calgary and the surrounding area with beautifully restored pianos to purchase and eventually offering the option of choosing a new Heintzman piano  for their family from his showroom.

After 30 wonderful years, Brian decided it was time to slow down a little and began the process of downsizing things and sold the building they had occupied for many years. Continuing to rebuild a few pianos in his shop at home while still doing in home tuning and repairs for valued customers and their friends.

"Today I still thoroughly enjoy looking after the pianos and the many customers I have met and come to know over so many years. I still look forward to getting up and going to work each day and yet manage to find more time to enjoy my hobbies and spend time with my grandkids. I think that makes me a pretty lucky guy."
